Truth and Love: 2 and 3 John

16 and 23 November

Which one should we treasure more, truth or love? They seem in conflict with each other. In our 21st century world of “you do you”, should we stand up for the truth of the gospel even if it means being “unloving”? Or should we express Jesus’ love and go quiet on some truth? These 2 short letters contend for both. “Grace, mercy and peace… will be with us in truth and love” (2 John 3). We’ll find a noble woman whose children are “walking in the truth” (2 John 4). And we’ll meet Gaius, famous for his love (3 John 6). In this short 2-week series, we’ll encounter real people, real followers of Jesus, real issues of sticking to the truth and living out Jesus’ love.

    Disciple-making Disciples

In the fourth sermon of our Mission Month series, Dan King from AFES speaks from Matthew 28:16–20, The Great Commission.

Dan reminds us that sharing the gospel is a calling for every follower of Jesus. Through the work of AFES in Australian universities, he shows how the gospel is reaching students, the challenges and joys of campus ministry, and the incredible ways God is at work through faithful witness of students on campus.

Be inspired to see how you, too, can join in God’s global mission.
