125 Anniversary - The Harvest Is Plentiful - Ric Thorpe - Matthew 9:35-38

n this special anniversary sermon, Archbishop Ric Thorpe, reflecting on 125 years of ministry at Ormond Anglican Church, we turn to Jesus' words in Matthew 9:35–38 and His vision for God's people.

As Jesus looks upon the crowds, He sees more than faces in a crowd. He sees people who are "harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd," and His response is deep compassion. He then calls His followers to lift their eyes and see that the harvest is plentiful.

This message challenges us to look beyond our own limitations and see what Jesus sees: a world full of people who need to know God's love and a church called to join in His mission.

You'll be encouraged to:

  • See the compassion that drives Jesus' mission

  • Recognise the opportunities God has placed around us

  • Pray for more workers for God's harvest field

  • Consider your own part in sharing the good news of Jesus

As we give thanks for God's faithfulness in the past, we're invited to look forward with faith, asking what God might do through us in the years to come. The harvest is plentiful. The question is: how will we respond?
